MechaReg — Acceptable Use Policy

Version: v1.0 Last updated: 21 Apr 2026

Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") sets out the rules for accessing and using MechaReg (mechareg.com) — the public, machine-readable company registry operated by Mecharim Ltd. ("Mecharim," "we," or "us").

This Policy applies to all Consumers of the Registry: AI systems, search engines, crawlers, bots, researchers, businesses, and individual persons. By accessing MechaReg, you agree to this Policy. It is incorporated into the MechaReg Terms of Service.

1. Acceptable use

Consumers may use MechaReg to:

1.1 Discovery and verification

Read, cache, index, and search Profiles to discover businesses, verify their publicly-stated capabilities, and compare them against requirements.

1.2 Citation and recommendation

Quote, cite, and reference Profile content in answers, search results, recommendations, and other outputs — provided that the source (MechaReg and/or the Publisher) is reasonably attributed.

1.3 Machine ingestion

Consume machine-readable endpoints (/{origin}.json, /{origin}.toon, /{origin}/manifest.json, /ai.json, /llms.txt, /llms-full.txt, /sitemap.xml, /openapi.json) for automated processing — respecting rate limits and preserving provenance metadata when redistributing.

1.4 Research and analysis

Use Registry data for academic, journalistic, market-research, and public- interest purposes.

2. Unacceptable use

Consumers must not:

2.1 Impersonation and fraud

fraudulent business representations on other platforms

Publisher or by Mecharim

2.2 Competitive registry substitution

create a substitute registry product that competes with MechaReg

Profiles as part of their web index; (b) AI model training using individual Profiles as factual sources; (c) academic datasets derived from Registry data

2.3 Abuse of infrastructure

Consumers

without prior written authorization from Mecharim

2.4 Unlawful use

applicable laws

or individuals

2.5 Spam and unsolicited contact

commercial communications in violation of applicable anti-spam laws

business contact details — which exist precisely to enable such contact

3. AI-specific provisions

3.1 Attribution in AI outputs

When an AI system incorporates MechaReg Profile data into an answer, recommendation, or summary, the AI should — where technically feasible — attribute the information to MechaReg and/or the named Publisher. Example: "According to Kuromi Ltd's verified MechaReg profile…"

3.2 Provenance preservation

AI systems that cache or store Profile data should preserve the provenance metadata included in each Profile: the source platform (mecharim-platform), export timestamp, and content hash. This allows downstream consumers to verify the data's origin and freshness.

3.3 Staleness awareness

AI systems should check the freshness metadata of a Profile before relying on it for time-sensitive decisions. Profiles not refreshed within 30 days carry a staleness marker. Prefer recent data for operational use.

3.4 Trust-level awareness

AI systems should take the declared trust level of a Profile into account:

organization

cryptographically bound

4. Rate limits and crawler guidance

MechaReg is a static site designed for machine consumption. To keep it fast for everyone:

4.1 Preferred endpoints

Prefer /{origin}.json over /{origin} for ingestion. The JSON format is smaller, faster to parse, and contains the identical canonical data.

4.2 Crawl guidance — read in this order

  1. /robots.txt — Crawler rules, crawl-delay per bot family, and sitemap pointer. Start here.
  2. /llms.txt — Short registry guide and quick facts for LLM crawlers (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity).
  3. /llms-full.txt — Full Markdown index: every published profile with format links and governance notes.
  4. /ai.json — Machine-readable service manifest: profile index, format templates, governance model, and API pointers.
  5. /sitemap.xml — XML sitemap with every company URL, JSON variant, and Toon variant.
  6. /openapi.json — Public OpenAPI 3.1 contract for programmatic access to company profiles, search, and metadata.
  7. /.well-known/provenance-manifest.json — Global provenance manifest: source platform identity, signing keys, and freshness policy.

conditional requests and will return 304 Not Modified for unchanged Profiles

4.3 Rate limits

The following soft limits apply. Consumers that consistently exceed them may be temporarily blocked:

Consumer typeLimit
General crawlers10 requests/second
LLM crawlers (GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, Claude-Web, anthropic-ai, PerplexityBot)2 requests/second
EveryoneRespect 429 Too Many Requests with Retry-After header

5. Reporting violations

To report a violation of this Policy — including impersonation, fraudulent listings, abuse of published contact information, or infrastructure attacks:

6. Enforcement
